May Highlights

This month we were blessed to have a new grand baby come into our family. Noah Robert Reeves, was born to Larry & Melanie on May 13. He looks a lot like his older brother, Ethan, to me, but we'll see.

We were able to see him in the hospital a few hours after he was born and he's just darling!
I love this sweet and tender picture of Noah & Lindsay

Two days later Kimber & Ryan and Robert & I were off to California for Richard's graduation from Veterinary School. We were all very excited for him. Richard and Nickie and the kids came back from Utah and spent a week in California having a well deserved break from school and work.

This was the picture that was shown on the big screen when they announced his name

Nickie actually got to hand him his diploma

Congratulations, Richard!

We spent one evening with Nickie's family watching the fireworks
at Disneyland from the trailer park where they were staying in their RV's

Of course, being in California, we couldn't pass up going to the beach...

Ryan wanted to get some surfing in, even if it was super cold.
Kimber and I were content to watch from the beach.

Robert and I went searching for anything fun among the rocks

Kimber and Ryan trying to stay warm

As usual, we had lunch at Duke's

The next week Robert & I spent preparing for a week at Woodbadge Training at St. Josephs campground near Mormon Lake near Flagstaff. Robert left on Saturday because he was on staff this year (the Senior Patrol Leader) and I left on Sunday afternoon after church. We started early Monday morning and had a fabulous week receiving leadership training that is geared to scouting, but I think I can apply everything I learned to everyday life.

The cabin that I shared with 7 other women!
It was a lot of fun, but I was excited to get into my own tent for the last 3 days!
... and Bryan Colby, my Troop Guide

It was a great experience getting to know the other members of my Bobwhite Patrol.
Here we are waiting for one of the classes to start. I learned a lot from each one of them and also made some life long friends...
Kathie, Justin, Kris, Ralph, Brian, Leroy and me

Robert performing one of his many duties as the Senior Patrol Leader,
blowing the kudu horn, which was the signal for us to assemble for the flag ceremony

The last three days were the part of the course that was "outdoors"
My tent that I lived in for the last 3 days. It was in a very shady spot and very comfortable. Ralph and Brian having some down time at our campsite
Kris and Justin preparing the food. During the last three days we cooked our own meals

The last day after our last assembly... An unforgettable week
